Good news for adult industry merchants based in Florida. Hillsborough county is delaying action on adult regulations. First Amendment attorney Luke Lirot was present during the County Commissioners hearing regarding insitituting tougher regulations on adult businesses. Lirot strongly emphasized the weakness of the evidence showing that adult businesses cause harmful secondary effects. He countered it with a significant amount of scientific studies proving otherwise.
On the opposing stand is attorney Scott Bergthold, from a Chattanooga, Tennessee law frim specializing in helping local governments regulate adult entertainment. He, on the other hand, had expert witnesses in tow to validate his evidence.
The final decision for the regulations is postponed until September.
