» The Three C's of On-page SEO

Search engine optimization (SEO) is one of the most effective means of driving traffic to your site. It is the practice of enhancing certain elements of your website and increasing your relevance on the web via link building efforts. The main objective of optimizing your site is to achieve top ranking on the major search engines' organic results. Most SEO activities involve two factions – on-page and off-page. This article discusses on-page SEO – the things you can do directly to your website to encourage spiders and bots to read it properly.

Here are the 3Cs of on-page SEO:

Copy – Search engines love good, readable copy. Its starts out with the most appropriate domain name that reflects your brand. When picking your domain name try to include your top keywords as part of the name. If you want to include several keywords, try using a hyphen to separate these. Also, integrate your essential words and phrases into your main copy without over-satiating it. (If possible, keep the ration between 3 to 5 percent of the content)

Code - Optimizing the HTML code includes creating title tags, meta description tags, meta keyword tags, headings, image alt tags, and hyperlinks. All of these are important factors in helping the search engine spiders properly classify your site.

Construction – Your site's architecture plays an important role in its ranking. Ensure that your website is well-organized and easy to navigate. Create a sitemap that will help prospective site visitors and spiders navigate your site.
